Motives for teaching students at the Institute of Physical Culture

Abstract
The article reveals the concepts of "human motivation", "human motives", and their interconnection. There was the research about these concepts in specific situations: motivation for entering the university and studying at the A.I. Herzen sports department. There was used the system of questionnaires and personal conversations. The analytical work was carried out with the systematization of the goals and incentives of students to study under the percentage terms. The research showed that under the current teaching system, there is decrease in the significance of the knowledge gained and the interest of students in the process of obtaining them; negative motives become the main motivational stimuli, which raises the question of the need to change the approaches to the educational process.
