Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify the promising directions for the development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation. Research methodology and organization. We calculated the results of the effectiveness of physical culture and sports (productivity for the number of people involved), personnel (productivity for the number of physical culture personnel), material and technical (productivity for the number of sports facilities) and financial (financial costs for productivity) activities. Research results. For the period 2000-2019, the multidirectional dynamics of the quantitative (the number of people engaged in physical exercises, the number of physical culture personnel and sports facilities, the amount of funding) and qualitative indicators (efficiency and productivity) of the development of physical culture and sports were revealed, promising directions for the development of physical culture and sports were identified. Conclusion. Promising directions for the development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Federation: increasing the efficiency of the main areas of activity, bringing the process of training labor resources to the demands of the labor market, eliminating the disparity in the distribution of specialists in various areas of physical culture and sports activities, optimizing the workload of sports facilities, developing normative indicators for the distribution of financial funds at various levels of government.
