Among many competencies of the specialist in the physical culture and sports sphere that determine the readiness of the university graduate for professional activity in the modern conditions of digitalization and globalization of all processes in society, the competencies that make up the psychological and pedagogical competence are of great importance, since the activity of the coach in the sport is largely pedagogical in nature. At the same time, the fundamental component from the point of view of the effectiveness of the educational process is the gnostic (knowledge) component. The change in the format of training in connection with the pandemic in 2020, the sharp transition from full-time to distance learning, led to the search for the professional community for time-appropriate techniques and ways to form the professional competence of future specialists in the physical culture and sports sphere. One of these forms was the development of the online course on “Pedagogical Practice”. The aim of the study: to study students ' awareness of the importance of psychological and pedagogical disciplines in their future professional activities, their attitude to the use of information and communication technologies, including distance learning technologies, in the process of their training, in particular, the formation of the gnostic (knowledge) component of the psychological and pedagogical competence of future specialists in the physical culture and sports sphere. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the expansion of theoretical ideas about the technologies of forming the competence of a specialist in the physical culture and sports sphere. The practical significance of the research determines the possibility of using the results in the organization of the student learning process. The main research method is a questionnaire survey. Research results and discussion: The results of the survey show that all students highly appreciate the importance of psychological and pedagogical training for future professional activities. At the same time, the need to use information and communication technologies in the study of psychological and pedagogical disciplines is estimated somewhat lower. Comparison of the results of the survey of students of KG1 and KG2 showed a decrease in the level of formation of the gnostic (knowledge) component of psychological and pedagogical competence in students in the absence of using technologies for creating their own digital product.
