Influence of unsuccessful competitive experience on the sports activity of athletes in disciplines taking place in the pool in freediving

Abstract
Introduction. Freediving refers to extreme sports because during the attempts to realize the maximum result the athlete can get a blackout. Often the sportsmen who showed impressive results and got blackout stop showing the same level of results. In this study, we tried to find out the cause of this phenomenon. The purpose of the study: purpose was to find out if the reason for the drop in results is the undeveloped psychological preparation in freediving, after receiving blackout at the competitions. Research organization. The research was attended by 9 highly qualified sportsmen, who had at least one blackout in the course of many years of training, after which the results dropped. For testing, a pre-competition course was held; the sportsmen dived to the distance. Research results and discussion. As a result of using pulse oximetry and questionnaires of athletes it was found out that physiologically athletes are ready to show better results. Conclusion: At the moment, psychological training in freediving requires finding effective solutions.
