Abstract
In recent years, the society has seen significant socio-economic changes. Since the 1990s, there has been a demographic decline, while increasing the availability and popularity of higher education applicants. The above indicates a contradiction between the existing need for students getting the professional education in higher education institutions to develop motivation for health-improving activities and the lack of pedagogical methods, techniques and mechanisms to facilitate this process. The aim of this study is development and method’s approbation of forming motivation for health-improving activities among students getting the professional education in higher education institutions. The results of the study show that the most formed motives for health-improving activities among female students of the first year (the leading motives of health-improving activity) are: games and entertainment (+8.93±2.87 points), positive emotions (+7.58±3.77 points), pleasure from movements (+5.28±3.52 points). In subsequent courses, the situation does not change dramatically. Based on these results we proposed the recommendations for efficiency increase of the physical culture occupations.
