Abstract
Increasing the share of independent work in the curricula for the pedagogical areas of the magistracy and the active use of information technologies in the educational process require the formation of future teachers' competence in the design of educational content. The article reveals the theoretical foundations of design and considers the practical aspects of training masters of a pedagogical university for this type of activity in primary school. For future teachers, mastering the process of designing didactic tools in mathematics and natural science is relevant. There is also experience of developing a curriculum for the master's program "Designing educational materials in mathematics and natural science".
