Abstract
The studied topic is connected with the substantiation of the effectiveness of the development of intellectual abilities for those who go in for orienteering. In sports orienteering, thinking is manifested in connection with the need to make decisions and perform actions in conditions of a lack of time and information in the presence of intellectual risk, at the same time, thinking is stimulated by this kind of activity. The purpose of the study is to check the increase in the level of intellectual performance of students on the basis of orienteering lessons. A program with the use of special exercises for the development of memory, attention and thinking in schoolchildren is proposed within the framework of traditional sports orienteering hours.
