Abstract
Introduction. The curriculum for the initial training of first-time citizens is voluminous. There is a need for the period of initial training to form a skill for self-development for further improvement of their level of professionalism. Purpose of research. To determine the effectiveness of the model of physical training of citizens accepted for service in the penal system, which encourages physical self-development. Methodology and organization of research. We used: pedagogical experiment, testing, methods of mathematical statistics. The test subjects were 30 citizens of the first age group (up to 30 years) who were accepted for service in the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Perm Region, who did not have sports categories (KG – 15 people, EG – 15 people). Results of the study and their discussion. Significant positive changes in the levels of formation of self-development components in the subjects of the experimental group over the subjects of the control group. Conclusions. The formed components of readiness for physical self-development in students of initial training create positive prerequisites for the development of professionally significant physical qualities and skills; contribute to the prevention of professional burnout, health promotion and service longevity.
