Cheer sports in recent years are rapidly developing, becoming more and more popular. Russian universities actively include this sport in the number of sports sections for students. The number and mass of competitions among student teams is increasing. At the same time, there is a need to improve the systems of sports training in cheer sports. This problem today is still insufficiently studied and requires a scientific approach in solving. The purpose of the study is to determine the dynamics of the level of sports readiness of students engaged in the cheer section of sports at the university. In the period from September 2015 to May 2016, a sports training program in cheer sports at the university was developed and first presented, a pedagogical experiment was conducted. In the role of the subjects were students from 18 to 20 years old (n = 20), enrolled in the cheer sports section, on the basis of the Department of Physical Education of the Russian State University for the Humanities. The training program was designed for 378 hours and included: practical classes, theoretical classes, independent classes on assignment, viewing educational films and video analysis of competitions, participation in competitions. Using special control exercises that were used during the pedagogical experiment, an analysis of the level of student sports fitness was carried out. The results of the experiment confirmed the effectiveness of the applied sports training program.
