Abstract
The article analyzes the features of stress resistance of law enforcement officers, depending on the specifics of their professional activities. The success of professional activity is possible while maintaining the professional and mental health of employees. Resistance to stress depends both on the personal qualities and psychophysiological characteristics, and on the characteristics of professional activity, and is determined by the absence of harmful consequences for activities, others and one's health. The activities of law enforcement officers are characterized by complexity and increased tension, associated with a high degree of risk of violations of somatic, professional and mental health. The strength of the nervous system of law enforcement officials presupposes the success of performing professional tasks under the influence of stress factors, without causing health problems. Newly employed persons experience more stress than those who have worked for more than 5 years. With the increase in the length of service, the employee is more influenced by provoking stressful situations, which in the future can lead to mental health problems. Officers who are constantly faced with stressful situations in their professional activities are more resistant to stress.
Keywords: resistance to stress, stress, mental health, professional health, law enforcement officers.
