Abstract
The purpose of the study: the analysis and generalization of the scientific and methodological literature; the development and testing of the program of strength training of veteran athletes in handball in the "Health" groups based on the health-improving orientation, including the principles developed for this group of athletes; the experimental testing of the dynamics of not only physical, but also technical and tactical readiness of athletes, indicating the effectiveness of the proposed program. Research results and discussion. Effective organization of strength training of veteran athletes in handball in groups "Health" contributed not only to the physical and technical-tactical readiness of athletes, the formation of the stable conscious interest in physical self-development and self-improvement, but also contributed to the integral development of motor, intellectual and spiritual qualities of students.
