Abstract
The article analyzes the level of fitness of applicants entering a higher educational institution Sienkiewicz J.A. Moscow State institute of physical culture, sports and tourism in the training course called "Physical culture". As a criterion for assessing the level of fitness, the authors of the article took the standards of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex of the RLD (hereinafter – the VFSK RLD). The monitoring of the level of physical readiness of applicants showed that the results for individual indicators ("strength" and "speed") among applicants during the entrance examinations differ significantly. The conducted research revealed the following aspects of the observed phenomenon, on the one hand, a significant differentiation of these indicators is explained by the sports specialization of sportsmen, and, on the other hand, by the insufficient level of general physical training of those who entered according to the established standards of the VFSK RLD.
Keywords: level of fitness, characteristic «development of the strength level», characteristic «the level of development of speed capability», standards of the VFSK RLD, signs of the RLD "gold" / "silver" / "bronze", training course called "Physical culture".
