Abstract
The article deals with the problem of organizing classes in the discipline "Physical training", as part of the initial training of cadets of the educational organizations of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia. It is necessary to note the relevance of the research topic, since according to the guidance documents, all newly recruited employees must undergo initial training, and cadets of higher education institutions of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia are of no exception. We analyzed the legal acts regulating the organization of initial training, identified shortcomings in the thematic plan of the discipline "Physical training". Based on the analysis, the new thematic plan was proposed, which was tested with first-year cadets, a positive effect was obtained and methodological recommendations were formulated for the study of combat techniques in the initial training classes.
