Abstract
The article raises the questions of revealing the quality of knowledge of students, future specialists in the field of physical education, using practical and theoretical methods of scientific research: the questioning, testing, analysis, comparative characteristics. The research was faced with the task of determining the level of theoretical knowledge and physical fitness of the 1st and 3rd courses in physical education subjects. The study involved 40 students. To determine the level of theoretical knowledge, questionnaires with 25 questions were used, covering the history of physical education, the theory and methodology of physical education, the psychology and pedagogy of physical education, and the physiology of sports. Tests were applied to test practical skills: running 100 meters, long jump from place with the push with two legs, leaning forward from a standing position with straight legs on the gymnastic bench, pulling up from the hang on the high crossbar, from the GTO complex. The study revealed the positive difference in the quality of knowledge, physical fitness between the 1st and 3rd year in favor of the latter.
Keywords: college, quality of knowledge, physical education, questionnaires, testing, data growth.
