Introduction. Technically correct performance of poses in the dances of the Latin American program is reflected in the assessment by all criteria and significantly affects the result. However, the available literature does not reflect their clear and consistent classification. The purpose of research – to develop the classification of positions, based on the content of Latin American dance program, as well as to determine the extent of their implementation by highly skilled dancers. Organization and research methods. To conduct the pedagogical experiment, the group of 24 dancers was formed, over which observations were made during the training process, taking place based on the Dance and Sports Club “Pearl”. The study determined the degree of mastery of the technique of performing poses by Latin dancers. The results of the study. The article presents the results of the study to determine the classification and degree of knowledge of the technique of performing poses by highly qualified Latin dancers. The criteria for assessing the performance of couples in the process of competitive activity are defined.
