Improving the functional state of students by using game activities in physical culture lessons in the university

Abstract
The article discusses the organization of the pedagogical process at the university in the discipline "Physical Culture and Sport" with the aim of increasing its effectiveness on the basis of studying the motives, needs and interests of students of the pedagogical university. Through the study of functional tests of students, the influence of the game method of conducting classes in physical education at the university on the body of students is determined. The problems of studying the motives for physical education and sports, the selection of physical culture tools that increase interest in classes and stimulate students' motor activity have been solved. The questionnaire of students in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd courses of the University A.I. Herzen in order to study the main motives for physical education and sports is conducted. New forms and methods have been developed to improve the system of physical education and sports activities at the university, stimulating students to an individually-oriented attitude to physical education and sports.
