This article considers the problem of improving the level of training of specialists of engineering troops in educational institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry. The purpose of the study was to analyze the current system of physical training of engineering troop’s specialists of the Russian Defense Ministry, to study the existing problems and shortcomings and to suggest ways of solving them. The results obtained made it possible to include the physical training into the physical training program for engineers of the engineering complex in conjunction with classes in special disciplines for engineers of the engineering troops (including classes close to the combat activities of engineer-soldiers). Recommendations for improving the physical training system in engineering educational institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry have been developed and proposed.
