The article considers the emotional well-being of the students as one of the factors of mental health and its importance for successful educational and social activities. The main characteristics of the emotional state of the students, which have the greatest impact on the educational process, are highlighted. For this study, we used the questionnaire "Tentative assessment of emotional well-being" by Ananev, V.A., which revealed a low level of emotional wellbeing among the majority of the students enrolled in the first semester.
