Abstract
The special training of heavyweight boxers at the stage of sportsmanship improvement is considered. Research goal: implementation of the block periodization concept in the special training of qualified heavyweight boxers in the pre-competition period. The article presents the point criteria for evaluating the fitness indicators of boxers in heavy weight categories used in the study. The experimental program of block training of heavyweight boxers was developed by using the principle of group individualization in the organization of training sessions and methodology for its application. As a result of the pedagogical experiment, the effectiveness of the developed methodology and program of the special training of heavyweight boxers in the pre-competition period was proved.
