Abstract
Introduction. People who regularly play tennis experience a wide range of health benefits. The purpose of the study is identification of the influence on the functional state of men of the second mature age of the regular health-improving activities with elements of tennis. Methodology and organization of research. The study involved 60 men of the second mature age (40–49 years), who were divided into the experimental and control groups of 30 people each. The pedagogical experiment lasted a year, during which the developed cycle of health classes with elements of tennis was introduced for representatives of the experimental group. The complex indicator of the functional state of men in the experimental and control groups was determined seven times by using the diagnostic automated complex "Cardio+". Research results and discussion. The complex indicator of heart rate regulation in the experimental group has positive dynamics on average for the group. After the pedagogical experiment, this parameter significantly increased by 13.0% from the initial data and corresponded to the high level (p<0.05). The complex indicator of myocardial condition after 12 months increased by 18.5% (p<0.05). In the control group, complex indicators of heart rate regulation and psychoemotional state decreased statistically significantly. Conclusions. After the pedagogical experiment, complex indicators of heart rate regulation, myocardial state, and psychoemotional state increased significantly (p<0.05). The growth range was 16–19%. In the control group, these indicators significantly decreased relative to the initial data (p<0.05). The decline in indicators was in the range of 3–18%. The application of the developed cycle of health-oriented classes with elements of tennis, in which men of the second mature age of the experimental group were engaged for a year, had positive effect not only on the vegetative regulation of the heart rhythm, myocardial functioning, and psychoemotional state, but also on the complex indicator of the functional state, which confirmed the effectiveness of the developed cycle of classes.
