Abstract
The article discusses the state of development of mass physical culture in the regions of Western Siberia, in the period of the 80s and 90s of the last century. On the basis of archival and literary sources, the most common and widespread forms of organization of physical culture and sports in Western Siberia are highlighted, among which various kinds of competitions have taken the leading position. A comparative analysis of the number of physical culture and sports engaged in the 80s and 90s is carried out.
