Role of the family in the motivation of schoolchildren to motor activity in free from school time

Annotation
The article presents the results of a survey of 11-year-old students about the state of physical activity in the family, their motivation for a healthy lifestyle. The survey showed that by the age of 11, 96% of schoolchildren already well understand the importance of physical exercises in their free time additional to physical education classes at school. At the same time, on average, in 70% of children, motivation for physical activities is not only health promotion, but also the opinion of parents. According to the study, only 22.4% of families are engaged in various types of physical exercises and sports with their child, on the other hand, in 22.5% of families, none of the family members is engaged in any physical activity. The results obtained show that the teaching staff of the school should pay special attention to working with families of 7–11 years old schoolchildren to promote physical education in the family, to show the leading role of parents in organizing the motor activity of schoolchildren in their free from school time.
