Annotation
The article deals with the training loads of runners aged 15–17 years old in the middle distance in the pre-competition period. To control the physical performance of the runners, a special set of tests was used, which allowed us to independently assess the condition of the athlete at the training stage and regulate the applied load. To monitor the development of the physical condition of the middle-distance runners there have been used the sports tests. Running at 200 m determined the speed endurance, running at 600 m – special performance, ten jumps - speed and strength training, PWC170 test revealed functional performance. Data analysis shows that in the experimental group within the precompetitive preparation phase there is a trend to improve result in run on 800 m. In the control group we have observed the stabilized results.
